About me
Hi, I’m Saad—a front-end software engineer from London. I’ve been working in the web industry for over a decade, contributing to everything from marketing agencies and startups to large client-side organisations.
I've worked with...
Over the years, I’ve worked on legacy projects, built greenfield applications from the ground up, and helped shape everything from large-scale monolithic systems to microfrontend architectures and lean, focused websites. I’ve contributed both as an individual developer and as part of diverse, multidisciplinary teams. With a background in design, I enjoy working closely with product specialists, UX designers, and researchers—bringing a technical edge to the creative process. This naturally places me in a design engineering role (more or less), blending both disciplines to create better digital experiences.
While my primary focus is on the front-end, I occasionally explore back-end technologies, espeically during integration. I have a strong passion for accessibility, performance and testing. I’m also deeply invested in improving the developer experience, which draws me towards application architecture, build tooling, and the intricacies of monorepos. Lately, I’ve been exploring GSAP, Three.js, and Motion to create immersive web experiences.
Teaching and mentoring
In addition to software development, I derive immense pleasure from imparting knowledge and mentoring. Teaching not only fortifies my grasp of new concepts but also imbues me with profound joy.
In the past, I’ve channeled my instructional endeavors through multiple esteemed organizations. As the Head of Coding at Ignite Hubs, under the aegis of Southwark Council, I crafted a specialized curriculum elucidating web development (spanning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) for budding enthusiasts. Orchestrating these educational sessions also afforded me the privilege to mentor fellow adults in their journey to becoming adept instructors. In a collaborative stride with a Scrum ensemble, I spearheaded the rejuvenation of the organization’s web application, sculpting its architecture with Vue, Nuxt, and Tailwind.
At Ignite, I further embraced the esteemed role of a supervisor for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), guiding young learners through Harvard’s illustrious computer science (CS50) course. This biweekly rendezvous was tailored to aid students in navigating the academic labyrinth, assisting them in deciphering intricate course material and unraveling multifaceted pr
oblem sets.
